Our week has been a very, very busy one. And unfortunately, I also experienced one of those what you call mental block. I could think of anything to write that I feel alright. But then, I am tired of waiting for my groove to return so I’ve decided to look for it. ^^, Here’s what have happened lately.
1. House Warming
We have invited our friends over last Sunday for our housewarming (there’s a proposal for part II by the way, but we’ll see). And everybody was so happy (they have to say so or there’ll be bloodshed. hehehehehe) as it was also our official announcement that we are already married.
Everybody loved our choice of color with the house and the food which D prepared. It took us (I’m the messman and 2nd cook) almost 5 hours to do all the preparation and cooking as we cooked it on a charcoal stove which added flavour to the food. And unfortunately, I got to picture only two of the dishes as we are already tired by the time our friends arrived.
I didn’t even had time to take pictures of the before cooking as we were running to and from.
And everybody was excited with the food. Its our first time to cook for them. Though they didn’t told us directly, we were pretty sure that they loved our Spaghetti with pepper paste ’cause they have been coming back for more.
And the guests, I hope they had a good time, they should or their tummy will hurt (a little violent here *heh*).
Aren’t they cute together?
I hope so. Even the our beloved cat matriarch visited our humble abode. She’s already 6 years old, have a croocked teeth and now hates to bathe. But still cute and cuddly as ever.
2. Change of Work Station
Last week, they moved our department to our old building which was about 15 mins ride from the our building. And stress accumulated due to the change of system procedure. I don’t usually file for an overtime (as I consider myself graduated from overtime a long time ago) but I have to or the consequence of delay is very, very big. Which is also the reason why I haven’t got to update my blog as much as I wanted to. I am too tired to write a couple of sentence. Thank God, we already have our MyDSL connection last week. I could now blog at home! Hurraay!! But unfortunately, our schedule has become a little bit tight. T_T
I haven’t posted all of the things I wanted to. For now, this will do. Until next time.
Mother’s day is only two hours away…
I am actually blank….
I don’t know what to write….
I was thinking what was my last picture with my mom…
I think it was on my graduation day in the sixth grade…
I couldn’t find the copy…
Never mind. Its not a very good one anyway. Not a personal picture actually. A pity. I won’t be able to have one for like… never…
I miss her…
So I urge you people! take a lot of pictures with your love ones, will you? You might regret it if you don’t.
I am on my wacko mood right now…. 8-}
For the first time in my life, we’ve got to watch a movie on the first day it was shown. And I’m not disappointed that I went and watched Spiderman 3 at the theater.
We arrived at SM Cinema at SM Valenzuela around 10:30 am as the stores have just opened by then. We were suprised that people have already lined up at the movie ticket house as if there’s a shortage of tickets.
Luckily, we were still able to get great seats, Thank God, as the cinemas don’t begin showing the films at the same time. We noticed that in the four cinemas of SM Valenzuela, three of them shows Spiderman 3.
The movie began by introducing the main cast and crew. The unique part of it is that it flashes all what happened for the last two movies.
I’ll not be writing about how the story line of the movie. You should watch the movie, I urge you, or you could be just contented on reading the synopsis on other sites.
My review is, Spiderman 3 is the best of all the three movies. The making is just great. You could not distinguish anymore where is the pure graphic begin and where the good old film making begins. Toby Mcguire as Peter Parker is just great. He protrayed the darkness of Spiderman perfectly. I also like James Franco as Harry Osborn. You could really see the change in his face from a person who felt he got freed (He bumped his head while fighting with Peter) to a madman when he regains his memories.
As a comic book reader, the movie adaptation is not at all bad. The design of Venom, Sandman, Black Spiderman and Green Goblin are just fantastic. Though there are a lot of alterations (Sandman is somewhat flying?) its not bad at all.
What I really like about Spiderman movies and I think that separates them from other super hero movies is the “moral lesson”. Uncle Ben, Peter Parker’s uncle, leaves a simple saying “With great power comes great responsibility” which so dammed true.
I have been a movie lover ever since I was five. My mom was proud of her most entertaining purchase then before the karaoke or multiplex player, the Betamax. She would rent from a store on the ground floor of her building then who seems to have latest of all movies even the ones which are yet to be shown at the theaters. And from then on, I have been a self-proclamed sort-of-movie critic.
My top five favorite movie of all time (not necessarily award winners but somehow those kind of movies that you don’t get tired of watching over and over again) are the following:
1. Notting Hill (Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts) – I have watched the movie, I think more than ten times now. I don’t memorize the lines so I can pretend to watch the movie again for the first time. I guess, what draws me to the Notting Hill, besides Hugh Grant’s fantastic smile and witty talking, is that feeling of falling in love all over again. The idea of having a moviestar fall in love with an ordinary person is somewhat like a cinderella story. Another thing that I really love about the movie’s story is the bonding of William’s friends.
2. When Harry Met Sally (Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal) – The thought of finding someone, the right one out of the million people is destiny. Sometimes, the one you are looking for is right in front of your eyes and you don’t even know it.
3. True Lies (Arnold Schwazenneger, Jaime Lee Curtis) – I couldn’t quite explain it why. I don’t know if its the action, the story, Arnold or the terrorists. But my favorite scene is where Arnold made his wife dance a sexy dance on the bed while thinking that she is on a secret job. Jaime is just so sexy.
4. As Good As It Gets (Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt) – I like the eccentricity of Jack’s character and the hope that however a person’s unkind attitude is, there is a soft heart beneath inspite the oddity of reason. And Bordell is so cute.
5. My Sassy Girl (Jeon Ji-hyun, Cha Tae-Yun, Kwak Jae-yong) – Because Kyun-woo looks so cute getting beaten up every now and then, enduring pains and humilitation for a reason he actually doesn’t understood at first. Perhaps I could say that I just like it. Period.
As you can see, based on my selection, I am hopeless romantic. That is if my practicality doesn’t get the best of me first. How about you, what is your top 5 favorite movie of all time?
Last night, I came across with the the french film, Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain, Le ( The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain). I was awed at the way they have filmed the movie and the movie it self. I somehow relate to Amelie as a self-declared eccentric creating my own world as well. I really liked the child-like yet adult feeling of the movie. We are smiling about the effort she makes especially with the prank she pulled with the vegetable vendor. Her creativeness reminds me of what I’ve been neglecting. It made me realize that those little things (that I tend to forget now) are somehow makes me smile every now and then and feel good. Sometimes, like Amelie, I do it quietly. The joy on the person’s face is a reward enough.
I may be completely missing the point of the whole movie. Anyway, the movie is great. I give 3 1/2 stars because of some incosistency (see the review here 🙂 )
